Minutes - Elkmont Chapel of Valley View Baptist Church, Wears Valley TN (southeast of Knoxville), Saturday, September 23rd, 2017. Originally erected in what became Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Elkmont Chapel was dismantled, loaded onto a truck, moved to its present site, and re-erected, in 1938.

At Andrew Whaley's suggestion the very old Valley View singing (it began in 1898) has been moved to the Saturday before the Headrick Chapel singing. This was done for the first time this year, forming the two-day First Annual Wears Valley Convention, Old Harp Singers of East Tennessee.

The change was quite successful - we had 30 singers in the morning, 35 in the afternoon (OK, I included Jeremy Shipp's two kids!)
