Dr. James Dooley, Professor Emeritus at WCU, gave a brief introduction,
remembering the late Dr. Eva Adcock, the founder of this singing.

The day was one of heavy continuous rain with flooding, so the entire festival
had been moved to higher ground. We were in the Multipurpose Room of the
Hinds University Center.
