Dollywood Singing
Robert F. Thomas Chapel

Minutes of the 45th annual singing in the Robert F. Thomas Chapel at Dollywood, October 20th, 2019. The chapel was built there in 1973 by among others our late singer Reford Laymons and his brother Wiley. It was named after Dr. Robert F. Thomas, the indefatigable Sevier County physician who assisted Dolly Parton into the world in 1946.
We counted 30 singers, more than the last couple of years, mostly in the lead section, where we had several actively singing visitors. The chapel was nearly full at the beginning, perhaps 50 people, with somewhat less than the usual rate of attrition as the singing wore on, though at the end, after nearly two hours, we had only six.
