Old St. John's Singing
About this singing
Access to the building ended some time after 2019.
Here is a note from Christian Harmony Notes, No. 16, October 1996, explaining the singing's beginnings:
St. John's Lutheran Church in Rutherfordton, N.C. (The Little White Church) Last year, a few of us got together on the second Saturday in December for an impromptu singing, and everyone agreed that a regular singing at this time of year would be very appropriate. Dot Lane of Rutherfordton has graciously arranged with the Rutherford County Historical Society for us to use this building, and she says that it will be decorated for the Christmas season. (What could be more wonderful?) This singing will be held from 10:00 to 3:00 with dinner on the grounds.
