Website updates in June 2026

It's been a good month for things landing on the website.

We were delighted to see the return of the John Merritt Memorial singing in Vicksburg, MS, after a seven-year absence. It is a multi-book singing and, as far as I know, one of only two that sings from the J. L. White edition of the Sacred Harp.

(Maybe the best web page in the world about the J. L. White book?)

Other recent minutes? Poke around...

Portland was probably the biggest Christian Harmony singing; Calvary/Fletcher in NC - one of my favorites. Our old harp neighbors provided four sets of minutes, and the Georgian Harmonists—also neighbors—one. William Walker's first child, the Southern Harmony, got an outing in Kentucky.

Our songs-led tally kicked over to 66,003—up by 2,459!—thanks mostly to Vicksburg.

A bunch o' folk got pages this month: Robert Brunk (b. 1942, d. 2026), Amber Davis, Natalie Davis, Susan Dickey, Lisa Geist, Linda Hellerich, Greg Howard, Oliver Kindig-Stokes (b. 1993, d. 2015), Erica Martinez, Hugh McGuire, Warren Steel, Jane Stephenson (b. 1938, d. 2026), Carolyn Thompson, Nancy Van Den Akker, John Van Horn, Carole Watts.
