This singing is one of two named for Joe Beasley (b. 1929, d. 1995). (The other was a monthly singing in Brooklyn, New York.)

The Joe Beasley Memorial Singing, in Winfield, Alabama, began (I believe) in 1995, the year that Joe Beasley died.

We do not know of minutes before 2001 (the 7th singing?). The first year a book we track (Christian Harmony) was known to be included was 2004, so that's where we start. 2015 was the last year in which more than just a few CH songs were led.

The singing has always been primarily a Sacred Harp singing; it has always been SH-only on the Sunday.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, the singing was one day (not two), and apparently Sacred Harp-only.
