This singing is one of two named for Joe Beasley. (The other was a monthly singing in Brooklyn, New York.)

I believe this singing began in 1995, not long after Joe Beasley's death. We do not know of minutes before 2001 (the 7th singing?), but it appears it was not a multi-book singing until after that.

The first year a book we track (Christian Harmony) was known to be included was 2004, so that's where we start. 2015 was the last year in which more than just a few CH songs were led.

The singing has always been primarily a Sacred Harp singing; it has always been SH-only on the Sunday.
