The first session was a bilingual English/Cherokee singing, with lyrics from the Cherokee hymnal (Cherokee Hymns) set to Christian Harmony tunes. The tunes chosen were documented by Will West Long in his journals in 1892. The music was from The Christian Harmony, 2010 edition. Sara Hopkins and Dawnenna West welcomed the singers and gave a lesson about Cherokee language pronunciation.
