The 15th session of Camp DoReMi was held at Wildacres Retreat in Little Switzerland, NC, from August 11th through August 14th, 2022. Books used during the singing school were The Christian Harmony, 2010 edition, and New Harp of Columbia, Restored Edition, 2001.
Officers for the camp were Jonathon Smith—Director; Jane Cannon—Assistant Director; Chris Wilhelm—Librarian.
Instructors and classes:
Hayden Arp taught Effective Leading & Front Bench Etiquette;
Rachel Wells Hall taught The Lost History of Songs, and The Problem with Minor Music;
Nathan Rees taught Beginning Rudiments, and Stories from The Old Harp;
Nicholas Thompson taught Dinner on the Grounds;
Michael Walker taught Rudiments II, and The Camp Meeting Spiritual: The Music of the Southern Frontier Camp Meeting;
Calum Woods taught Revisiting The Harmonia Sacra, and Scripture, Poetry, and the Psalms;
Becky Wright taught A Primitive Baptist Hymn Sampler, Mad Libs Composition, and Keying 7-Shape Music.
There was a collaborative group-led New Compositions & Alternate Sources session to end the weekend of superb classes.
