The Sacred Harp (1991) and The Christian Harmony (1873/1994-the "Carolina book")

A singing school focusing principally on the four-shape method was conducted by Hugh McGraw; Mr McGraw then led the class through SH 49-Old Hundred. Dan Huger then gave further comments the seven-shape method, and led the class through CH 210t-Old Hundred. Mr McGraw recognized Dr Doyle Boggs, Wofford College host, who welcomed the singers, and introduced also Dr Gerald Thurman, also hosting the singing. Mr McGraw then proposed that the morning session be given to the Christian Harmony. As the sense of the class was agreeable to this, Dan Huger led (CH) 77b-Cambridge.
Mr McGraw then proposed the class go into business session.
Dan Huger was elected to chair the morning session, from Christian Harmony; and Jonathon Smith was elected to chair the afternoon session, from Sacred Harp. Business session closed.
